Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Want to wait for the K7XX to become available again, but was wondering how do these compare with them?
What pulls the PC37X's edge over the K7XX's is the Mic. I really like the Mic on the PC37X. it's a Sennheiser Signature. beautifully detailed and crisp. Sure I can use the ModMic 4.0 with the K7XX. but I hate dealing with to many cables and even with the little connectors that come with the midmic, to connect the cable with the K7XX cable. For me, its to much to deal with. Plus when you flip the Mic up on the PC37X's. its mutes the mic. So much easier that while playing you are fumbling to find the little switch on the cable. lol
The mic on the PC37X is pretty much the exact same mic used in the Game One's, Zero's, 363D's or PC360 ( which are the 363D's without 7.1 ). However, I did have an issue with the Zero mic no working at all.
I have not had any issues with the PC37X mic so far with the testing I have done on them.
On Monday I will be having a couple of meetings for work and I will use the PC37X for those meetings through a couple of conferencing apps that I use. I will also be using them for my Xbox One Monday Night to run some raids.
I can say this. If I have any issues with a mic being muffled. I get rid of them. I can't stand that. Period. This is why I don't use the newer versions of the Astro headphones anymore or the beyerdynamic MMX330's (older model) cause they had a issue with clipping. I hate hearing myself sound like I'm in a trashcan and I like for people to hear me nice a clearly if I am on their team. It's a curtesy thing more or less
I've heard about a software update that was supposed to fix the issue to get a quality closer to the G4ME ONE but did not find any reviews including that update.
So i'm just wondering if the quality is actually still as bad as the PC 373D reviews or better.
I just got my sample today so I did not have much time to test them out much but. As far as I can hear, the mic on the Ones and the 373D are the exact same.
The lesson here is the mic itself is very good, but the ADC matters and perhaps the complaints about the PC373D mic were all due to the USB dongle bottlenecking the performance.
