High quality hardware, absolutely horrible software
Super high quality. Feels solid, feels good. Switches are interchangeable and upgradable. The usb connection works on both top and bottom. But…There is no support for the unit at all. I was able to get it to work with viaapp online. But had to modify a json file to clear an error. The description says compatible with Via… that’s a stretch. I have not been able to figure out how to start applications with the macropad.
you should be at least a bit techno savvy if you buy this.
Taking the switches out was scary! Thought I made a mistake and it wasn't hotswap, but it is, it just takes a LOT of force!
Also, the VIA programming isn't plug and play. You need to download the config file and upload it to VIA before you can edit the keys, which is a shame.
Otherwise, the build quality is nice and the unit has some decent heft to it. For the price, though, I would expect it to have easier VIA support...
Amazing construction, BE CAREFUL FOR YOUR ARTISAN KEYCAPS
While this macropad will not damage your artisan keyxaps in anyway, I was very surprised to see that some of my custom Pokémon resin keycaps (that have fit EVERY single keyboard and macropad I’ve used before) do not fit (SA profile)! Other than that, it is an exceptional designed macropad (all components are SOLID, and you feel the weight of it in your hand + move it around)
Easily configurable through the VIA software, and the Gateron Yellows sound fantastic and thocky out of box. If you are looking for a simple, small, and configurable macropad, this is a good option to consider.
