ecolemanShort answer: Yes the map pack and the accessory kits cover everything the core set used to give, but I would recommend ordering 2 drops, (see long answer for why).
Long answer: In MonPoc (Monsterpocalypse) you have two types of figures in your army units and your monster. Monsters are the most important piece and have two forms your alpha form (generic everyday somewhat weak) and hyper form (angry and powerful). There are two types of monsters standard ones that the alpha and hyper look similar and morphers that are 4 little monsters that are unit sized in the alpha form and their hyper form is them coming together (think lions and voltron). In the 3 monster packs listed, series 1 will always have a standard monster(both forms), series 3 will always have a morpher(both forms), and series two will have a 2/3 chance of getting a standard monster or 1/3 chance 2 buildings.
For peoples first games I would not recommend playing morphers their cool but have some rules baggage with them. This means 1/3 of the time I would not recommend this to people as a 2 person starter. If you pick up two drops you will have a large amount of options on which monsters people want to play and a good amount of units and buildings and when you do play morphers both players can try playing them.

AMJackerThe starter kit contains 2 monsters and their ultimate models and 4 units and 2 apartment buildings. Not saying that's the best game of Mon poc but it's technically true
BigMackenzieWow. Thanks for helping but it’s been like 3 years. The new set came out. Thank you but I’ve moved past the game. If you need V1 minis I have hundreds that I’ve been using for D&D. Will sell for cheap!
BigMackenzieAMJacker@mac.com I'll send pictures. it's a lot of minis, maps, rulebooks, dice, etc. 95% series 1. Mostly still in the little mini plastic bags.
