JaybzeeI assume it is because the z370 motherboards sell the best, especially for gamers buying higher end graphics cards like the 1070 ti. While the Ryzen chips have great multicore performance, their per core performance is not as good as Intel's chips. Games, in general, utilize higher clock speeds more than higher core count.

ThoeoThat's accurate, but I'm using a 1600X atm and it's roughly the same FPS numbers stock as my wife's 6600k at 4.5 in a lot of things. Not all, by any stretch, but the growing pains of Ryzen are over I think, it's a VERY good value series of chips :D

LucifuriuzIt is great value, but the 1070 ti, especially at this price, is not very value oriented. The 8600k, 8700, and 8700k, would make much more sense (to most people) in a high end build like this, where pure performance is the goal.

ThoeoI'm familiar with this line of discussion, and I'd agree with your comments in terms of maximizing FPS, but high end GPUs can be applied to maximizing detail and resolution as well as frame rate. Ryzen will bottleneck 1080p, but generally not 1440p, 2160p, VR, etc. I'm shopping a VR build now, and Coffee Lake is a good option, but not the best price/perf for 90 Hz.
