Neat idea, very limited experience.
The AR interaction is neat, but it's way harder to use and explore than I hoped. In practice, you need more hands than you've got to hold the thing in place AND use the phone/tablet AND interact with the AR. It's finnicky about positioning, framing, and angles, so you have to be in exactly the right place, and if your device moves off course you lose your AR interaction. So you can't really use your camera to "look around" the AR, because if you try you'll lose it. The telescope mug was particularly disappointing on that front. Also, you can only use each item with ONE device. If you try to scan the barcode a second time you'll get denied :/ So they can't be shared with others, or used with both a phone and a tablet. I played with them for a few minutes and got bored. I couldn't help thinking that it would be leaps and bounds better if the app didn't require a physical object.

jmatthewHi there, Thank you for your valuable feedback. We are consistently updating the app and there will be more features updated in the near future. The best way to interact with the AR is to hold the Mug in place OR place it on the table. You are able to use the device through our app to look at the view just like from ISS (International Space Station). The satellite data is from USGS (live feed).
