Very lightweight, the band that comes with it can be replaced by a piece of shockcord to make it even lighter. The brightest setting is good for about a 30 yard beam, while the dimmest is perfect for around camp chores. The Red light switch is separate from the white light, so there's no unnecessary holding of switches until it switches over, and a bonus is there are 3 levels of red light as well. It can also be angled down 90*. I really like this headlamp and will be taking one with me on the PCT.
