I've been backpacking for over 10 years now, and this headlamp is by far the best one I've ever had! It has settings for every occasion Including dim, bright, and super-bright directed weight light (perfect for night hiking), one defused weight light (perfect for in camp use and night reading), dim, bright, and flashing red light (also perfect for in camp use and night reading), a lock mechanism so it doesn't accidentally turn on in your pack and waste battery, and finally the coolest feature, you don't have to carry extra AA's or AAA"s batteries because it rechargeable. For the price of less than $40 and the weight of 1.8 ounces this headlamp is worth it's weight in gold. The only downside to this product is that the head-band does not lock to your adjustment settings. So you're constantly fixing it, my solution to this is a small safety pin. I will put this item to the test during my 2019 Appalachian TrailThrough Hike! As of right now I give this product a 9.5 out of 10!

comat0se1Unfortunately I only managed to complete 270 miles of my Appalachian Trail flip-flop attempt through Maryland and Pennsylvania, with plans to do long sections hike In the upcoming years. However the light work perfectly!! When I remembered to lock the light it never came on in my pack, Additionally the battery life was really good I only charged it like two times during my 24 day trip, and the light quality was perfect for even the darkest of nights. I stand by my previous assessment and I absolutely love the light!!
