Does anyone know if these glasses protect against UV rays? I looked on Oakley's site and couldn't find anything conclusive. Thanks

pringjYes, all Oakley's have top notch UV protection. I agree it's not obvious on the product pages, but they all use "Plutonite" lenses and the features of the lenses, including UV protection, are outlined at this link http://www.oakley.com/en/technology/eyewear
I've used Oakley's for years on and off the job, and they are, in general, very good glasses from a performance and protection standpoint. If you can get to a store to test drive a pair, though, it's a good idea since I wouldn't say they have a universal fit.

stanleymoiseWhich eventually leads to the store going out of business. Look, for no added value items (toilet paper, etc) I see your point. Hell, I'm on massdrop, buying stuff sight unseen all the time. But a store has to supply stock for you to try on, raising their costs. I say this as someone who used to work at a full service snow ski shop: we'd put you in the right gear. That shop no longer exists, that service doesn't exist because of this.

KaatoI understand the sentiment, but I think store owners get the traffic and the opportunity to sell you something else while you're in the store as well. Remember that the store goes out of business just as quick if you don't go there at all. I don't think it would be dishonest in this case. You're not depriving the store of anything meaningful by trying on a pair of glasses. I would reserve "dishonest" for something like buying an item you know you'll only use once and then returning it after you're done. I get where you're coming from though, and given what I've seen in these forums I appreciate someone who can voice an opinion without name-calling!
