Does this lens fit the Olympus E-410? Will it work together? I know this is a stupid question for professionals, but I'm a complete amateur.

mmariusThe E-410 is equipped with an interchangeable lens mount that accommodates the full range of Olympus ZUIKO DIGITAL or third party Four-Thirds lenses.
* EDIT: This lens will NOT pair with your E-410 Body. Previously I was under the impression that this lens would work with the E-410.

mmariusIsn't the E-410 the older film based 4/3 system? If so, this lens will not work without an adapter being Micro 4/3, the depth of the sensor is different. The adapters vary in price depending if you buy a smart adapter like the metabones speed booster or a simple dumb adatper, which will cause you to lose some light coming through to your lens and possibly auto focus)

mmariusThis is the MICRO 4/3s lens so the short answer is it will not fit on an E-410 without an adapter. It's a good lens at the drop pro e but you'll have to add the price r of the adapter. Knockoffs are pretty cheap. However you'll lose the small size. There are 4/3s lenses in this range that are very inexpensive. For an E410, that's probably what I'd do.

mmariusNo, this lens won't work with the E-410, at least not without some kind of an adapter (I doubt if one is even available for this pairing). If memory serves, the E-410 has a Four Thirds mount whereas this lens has a Micro Four Thirds mount (compatible with Olympus OMD/PEN series, Panasonix GF/GX/GH series, etc.).

djprFYI, 4/3 was designed from the start to be a digital system; the closest analog counterpart would probably be 110 film in terms of exposure area. But you're right in that Micro 4/3 lenses won't work natively on older 4/3 bodies.

cjyhoI'm not sure why I thought the 4/3 system was film based, I obviously was confused when I wrote that. The 4/3 was based on a system using a mirror and M4/3 is mirrorless, hence the difference in sensor depth.
