I was a little hesitant to spend this much for a machete. I usually get the Tramontinas with the spring steel on the cheap. They have served me well. But I liked the steel and the micarta handle so I pulled the trigger. Just got it today and I'm glad I did. The balance just slightly forward and is perfect for a weapon as well as a chopper . I'm a big fan of micarta and the handle is comfortable and grippy. I have not cut with it yet, but I know that is not a problem. If these come up at this price again I will get another.
