ok, i currently joined the drop with a medium nib. can anyone suggest one or the other, between the medium and broad? This will be my first Pelikan. :)

AshleyBeanI've not written with a Medium, but I have written with a BB. Sooooo smooth! Sadly, for somebody with small writing like me, not very practical. If you write small, I'd go with the M. If you decide later that you want a different nib, you'll be able to find replacement nibs for the M205 in the $40 USD price range.

AshleyBeanThe nib on the Souverän is larger than the nib on the 200/205 series, so they can't be compared straight up. If you own Japanese pens (Pilot, Sailor, etc.) they write finer than European nibs; in my case, the fine nib on the M805 writes very broad, almost like a broad Japanese nib. Like Xyverz wrote, it depends on how broad of a line you are looking for.
