This is only my second drop, but if I've learned one thing it's that these should be treated like a crowdfunding style effort.
Just pay for it, and it'll show up in the mail at some point in the future because the estimated ship dates are usually hopeful estimates simply because the logistics don't seem to work out as they planned. The order was nearly 1000 pens. I wouldn't expect an order of 1000 anything to go off without a hitch.
Also, don't buy this stuff as a gift without a few weeks of lead time. This isn't Amazon, you may not get it in time. I'm still pretty excited to get my pens next week, even if the USD-CAD exchange rate bent me over a bit.

KajSorensenYep, I agree. People are just looking to get something for free or some compensation for it being behind schedule. I treat Massdrop as a way to get specialty products for cheaper than retail, not a way to have a retail experience at a discount.
