I was willing to give these pants a try, but just noticed that the available waist sizes are only from 28" to 34"! I guess Prana and Massdrop are not looking for business from anyone who has a larger frame, and I'm not even talking over weight, just a somewhat larger person. I think that I had a 34" waist line in high school when I played basketball, and I toggle between 38" and 40" many years later! Personally I would recommend that anyone looking for outdoor, or hiking pants, check out the following pants instead: Columbia Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible Pants: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NBA120Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1&psc=1 The Tru-Spec 24/7 series of pants: https://www.truspec.com/24-7-series/pants The L.A. Police Gear STS Atlas Tactical Cargo Pants: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06W2HD22K/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza?th=1&psc=1 Rail Riders: https://www.railriders.com/men-outdoor-clothing-pants-c-104_110.html I have been able to score some deals on the Columbia Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible Pants on Amazon, and have purchased two pairs of pants there in Black and Green for less than $20.00 and $10.00 respectively. I have noticed that the prices on Amazon fluctuate tremendously, as the price on the pants that I purchased go up and down each day, so setting an alert may be the best way to snag a deal! L.A. Police Gear also sells some really nice pants at reasonable prices.

MsilverhammerIs the fabric itself on the Silver Ridge water resistant? I've had some Prana pants with the DWR coating, and washing with the DWR coating has been finicky for me.

MsilverhammerTo say that the both companies are not looking to sell to people with larger frames is kind of ridiculous. Obviously this drop is specific to one color and is more than likely just trying to get rid of stock. They go up to size 42 on their actual site. If you need a larger size then you'll have to buy from somewhere else, but it will be $50+.

solBLACKYour statement assumes that you have inside information about the motives, and sales objectives of both companies related to the sale of this product. I'm pretty sure you don't have that knowledge, and your statement is just pure speculation. Maybe it's a "get rid of the stock we have in that color and sizes on hand fire sale", maybe not, I don't know; because I am unable to purchase the pants on Massdrop, like those individuals who have waistlines between 28" and 34" in circumference. It seems obvious to me that if Prana and Massdrop wanted to sell the pants in a complete range of sizes and colors, then they would have done just that, but they did not, which is the only fact that I am sure of at this time. Anything else is speculation, until Massdrop and Prana comment and explain the situation. The pants may be good, bad, or mediocre, I don't know, but I do know that the other pants that I mentioned are great pants in my opinion, and sometimes available at great prices. I'm definitely not stuck on, or obsessed with Prana, as I have not really been impressed with their style in the past, but was willing to give them a try, but only at the reduced price.

MickifreeI really like the Silver Ridge Stretch Convertible pants. When I have put them under a faucet of running water, the water runs off like oil and water. They are cool, and wick moisture away from your body, and they also provide a UPF 50 sun barrier. They are really comfortable, and I don't even notice that I am wearing pants.
