I'm just curious why these three notebooks are cheaper to ship than some of the pens and pencils?
LethargicLassHi LethargicLass,
Because free shipping isn't free. These are in-fact very expensive to ship, but the vendor has decided to increase the list price by their shipping cost rather than charge the cost of the item and an additional fee for shipping.
In large scale studies, people have been shown to feel they're getting a better deal when shipping is included in an online item's list price than when the shipping and item cost are shown to them separately, despite the two totals being identical.
Science! Marketing! Perception! Yay!

Willnot quite sure that is making sense to me. I get increasing an overall price rather than the two separate, that happens all the time, and yes, I prefer it. I am just curious where the free shipping part came in to it?

LethargicLassHe's saying that shipping on these is cheaper than on some pens, because the cost of shipping is already factored into this price.
