TeensierPythonWhy would anyone buy the card at $150 above MSRP while its performance is below another card costing $549?

BobertBecause they can actually obtain the card. These cards are making people a lot of money mining cryptocurrencies. Guys will come in and buy a store's entire stock. I watched a guy buy a dozen 480's and 470's once, and he asked about any additional stock. He was mining ethereum. These cards are worth far more than MSRP. They are not really for gaming, at least until they are more readily available. This is the same reason why 480's and 470's cost so much more than MSRP. One simply cannot find them.

SkipPpI find it odd AMD would talk about gaming so much in their adverts while the most significant driver update great improved mining. If these cards were worth a lot more than MSRP there would be none available at $700, but the supply is pretty ample now that prices have rocketed.

BobertThat is how supply and demand work. Supply low - prices go up. Supply high - prices go down. When they supply is about the same as demand then the prices level out.  Also, why would AMD not build a better driver for their card to help miners? Yes, the card is "designed for gaming" (actually its designed for parallel computing which gaming takes advantage of) but taking advantage of a HUGE spike in sales due to crypto currency mining is smart. When mining takes a nose dive (and it will) AMD will still have the gamers to fall back on.
This is all basic marketing, while I don't have a mastery of the subject, the few classes I have taken (15 years ago) on economics and marketing pretty much spell this out. MSRP is SUGGESTED, no one has to follow it. If the price is to high for you, don't buy. If you think its a good deal, buy it. I don't tell anyone how to buy, and I don't tell other people what are good "deals."
You aren't informing anyone, you aren't opening anyone's eyes, you are being dicks. I

TeensierPythonOnce again, if you see it at a lower price somewhere else, cite your findings.
