I connected mine up to a Raspberry PI 3 with the included cables. The moment I powered it up there were colorful patterns all over the screen. I thought I might just have the wrong settings so I changed them according to the documentation (the same PDF another poster linked). This only resulted in the smell of burnt electronics, the screen basically fried itself and wouldn't turn on again.

Please send us the details step by step operation on the raspberry pi and lcd connection. we suspect that there are conductive things cause a short circuit. we checked with history record and there is no burn issue.
