growl3r@kingping Seiko Hardlex is pretty good. I've personally worn Hardlex for 4+ years and I haven't been able to scratch the crystal with normal wear.

kingpingHardlex is less scratch resistant but MORE shatter resistant than synthetic sapphire. My 40 year old Seiko still runs and it's prolly just an early version of Hardlex (hah, pre-branded). No crystal scratches although it does have plenty of bracelet and case scratches. Also keep in mind that the bezel is slightly higher than the highest point of the domed Hardlex crystal on the Monster. Lastly the thing is so freakin' big that your sub-conscious pulls your wrist away from door frames when you walk through!
BTW, I have this the Orange Monster that I bought 6 months ago on Amazon. Non-Japanese built. Great watch, great presence, accurate enough - truly amazing bracelet. One last thing, the asymmetrical bezel guard is just plain cool from a design perspective.
