I own the Pack Trench version of this Cagoule, but it looks to be the same year model. I opted for the trench in case I wanted to unzip it versus not being able to. Thoughts: I sized up to a Large, so that I could fit a puffy under it if need be. I'm 5'11, slender-fit, 165lbs. The Large is a bit large on me, but vents a bit better than the medium did -- which fit a little tight in the shoulders/pits. I wanted something that would cover my puffy, which is longer in the torso and would stick out of the bottom of my other rain jackets. This worked for that, and I wonder why other vendors don't make slightly longer rain jackets that cover pant pockets. The vents can't be closed, but seem to do their job well enough. I haven't had it in uber-rain/storm yet, only casual rain and drizzle, so I can't attest to how wet you will actually get when the sky really opens up... every time I take it with me, it doesn't rain much, so maybe it has decent-luck built in? I've had mine for a year now, and it works as well as my Columbia rain jackets. Mine has no drawstrings for the hood, which is the most irksome part of these products - non-adjustable hoods that blow backward in the wind, or don't move with my head. I wear a boonie, or ball cap now, and just throw the hood back... which kind of sucks, but oh well. The jacket is light for the coverage, and I do like the flaps that allow for backpacking waist-belts to fit under the front. I found this helps with venting around your stomach, since it doesn't push your jacket against your skin. As far as I can tell, this cagoule has those same flaps, but I don't see them open in any pictures. Mine has had a few holes in it that I've repaired with tape and silicone. The material is mid-range thin for lighter jackets, and has held up as expected. As with all things, YMMV. I needed a longer jacket, and wanted something that vented better than my other rain jackets... and here it is, though it's not perfect.
