It’s a digital to digital bridge. The SU-2 is simultaneous output on all ports. This should be too. That makes it a digital splitter, capable of running simultaneous DAC paths for A-B comparisons or multi-speaker systems. It’s brilliant. Known as a DDC (digital to digital converter), it also reclocks and isolates the digital signal from system, RF/EMI and power noise in best case scenarios.

ShaolinGrumpCouldn’t have said it better! I believe it additionally can act as a converter if you’re using a laptop (with USB) as a transport/player, but you want to use a DAC with coaxial or optical input.

Interesting product. Does it run all outputs simultaneously full blast? Is there any switching involved as an option?

The SU-6 outputs do not run simultaneously and you can switch between the outputs. The user manual that comes with the interface will instruct you on how to do so.
