Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

also you gotta find tips that work for you, alot of people dont get a good seal or they dont try a bunch of diff tips, i suggest doing both, because, you will likely find that sony hybrids or hybrid clones are probably going to be the best option, comply or shure olives for foamies(though the stock ones arent as bad as some people claim, when cold they are stiff but at room temp here, the are as soft as my olives..softer then etymotic foamies by a long shot...)
these are great if you dont expect something your not ordering, these focus on mids and detail rather then bass like many units even ones costing several times this price these EQ very well and many people either dont know that, or dont have a player with a decent EQ... a V eq can bring these to a "flat" profile, you can boost the bass a fair amount without harm/distortion...
my first set i had for 5 years before one ear died, that was at least 3 years ago, my buddy told me about this because i told him to get these if he wanted comfort, but the full price had him like "but what if i dont like them" well i grabbed a set to....i have hf5's(etymotic on sale here for 80bucks) i have a stack of other iem's, and, a soon as i tossed some non-stock tips on them and started listening....i got a big grin....they arent hf5 quality, but, they are comfortable, far more so then any other set i have owned... the ety's are nice once you find tips that work for you and get use to deep insertion, but, the pl50's are just....you can forget they are in...and the sound quality is far from unacceptable to anybody but an elitist or bass head...both groups im not part of... my dream is to one day be able to afford a set of er4pt's (being disabled and poor as shit sucks...)
anyway...you got no worried these are great...i wouldnt have bought them again if they wherent....if they would make a mass drop exclusive ver with a metal shell, cord a foot longer, and perhaps a headset option...i would be willing to pay more for that...50-60bucks... ;)
