My first blue box & first Spyderco... likely my last of either. I was at first a bit disappointed when I opened the box to find the Dragonfly 2 Salt H1 - having never been a fan of serrated carry. Determined to give it a chance though, and like what I read about the Salt. This knife was scary sharp out of the box, and ripped through cardboard with ease. That is most of what this knife has been tasked with, tape and cardboard. A little plastic packaging, a few pieces of random cordage and a few zip ties. I dropped it once shortly after getting it - it landed exactly point down and folded the point over to the backside. That was my fault, though I was surprised to see it bend so easily. Over the past few months I've noticed each of the serrations dulling and have had to consciously use those further and further back along the blade's length. Frustrated recently at how much effort it took to cut through some cardboard, I more closely inspected the blade. While difficult to see, you can feel that the entire edge is folded toward the backside of the blade.. no wonder! In addition, there is heavy pitting in the leading 7/16 from the point back. There is one spot about 1/8" from the tip that is "torn" a little more than 1/32". The wire clip has been worse than useless. I can't keep it tight. It would always catch on anything it could and rip the knife out of my pocket. Consequently it has been carried loose in my pocket, which means I have to dig for it when I need it, and that it often picks up lint and wont lock until cleaned out. Adding insult to injury, this exact knife is currently pennies less on AMZ than what was paid for this blue box "deal". Lesson learned. :(
