Do there have the double lens construction of the explorer? Glass lenses? I’m struggling to see what justifies the $400+ retail value.

CoolHandLukeThat’s pretty cool. Any info on what material the lenses are? I am curious to know how they can be so heavily discounted.

BeardyIf I go to the Salt website I can't find these glasses. I guess they are no longer part of their product line and that's why they're discounted. This is pure speculation of course.

BeardyVintage Salts are glass. Current sunnies are CR 39 lens. I believe that type of lens are the clearest compared to other polyurethane ones.

CoolHandLukeI have know sunglasses production knowledge, but that sounded cool af so I ordered them
BeardyI have Salt. eyeglasses and they're handcrafted in Japan. They're a fairly respected brand in the 'design' community. Does that make them worth the cost? Who knows, that's up to the individual.

BeerCanChickenNone of these products are worth their msrp but for less than $100 it's a real bargain. I would even say this price is what these "luxury" brands should have been. Make something for $50, sell for $500. I would pay msrp if these things have real gold/silver/platinum(not plated) in them. Just my 2 cents.

CoolHandLukeAgreed. I received my pair last week and they were a great bargain. Feather-light titanium frames (flexible and resilient), super clear CR39 lenses, thoughtful single-side AR coating on the inside only, comfortable fit and absolutely flawless fit and finish. These are a simple and versatile design and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. I understand why glasses like these get MSRP'd at $500 or more, but I struggle to pay that much for them. At Drop's price this was truly a steal.
