Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. some possible reasons include: -- manufactured with materials that cannot be exported (unlikely for speakers but occasionally the reason for US only - IN THE NEWS: cryptology hardware and software are included here - it can be treason if the stuff compromises or has ability to compromise US security ) -- requires shipping clearances that shipper does not want to deal with --extra tariffs to many countries (sometimes they will ask for extra handling fees to cover but then again, sometimes it is just too much hassle) *NOTE the tariffs and hassles with restricted shipping have been minimized with treaties like NAFTA and its European and Asian counterparts but a general answer like this cannot make a wholesale claim to dismiss all roadblocks
-- BUT the most likely reason: many manufacturers will sell distribution rights to regions... North American rights for instance which includes Canada, but sometimes the regions are cut to just a single country like this one appears to be (could be worse... some are limited to one or a few states like California or the New England states) this could include an offshore manufacturing plant from which it could even be cheaper to buy from in you country so Googling the product with your country of residence might turn up a different seller for your country
