KernalbuketI'm not holding my breath that they won't screw that up as well too... What a Joke of a Company.

KernalbuketI got my scythe one super fast. Not worried about the money, just hate getting my hopes up for nothing, again.

Gruven_reuvenYou're giving Massdrop flak for something they couldn't control? Logical move slick. For the record, during the July Bazaar sale, I bought a 29" LG ultrawide, when it reached me, the screen was destroyed. No idea whose fault it was, be it the shipper or Massdrop, but when I contacted them they got me a full refund within 24 hours and even tried reaching out directly to LG for a replacement. Massdrop is good at what they do, and they don't have control over a drop until it reaches their warehouse from the vendor. Since the creators of this game didn't print many copies then you can't blame that on Massdrop, not really their horse in the race since they're just the middleman.

ZelgiusthebraveYes I'm giving them flak. If this was just one drop that had issues, then I'd chalk it up to "something they couldn't control". But EVERY drop that I have backed. Transforring Mars, The Others, Great Zimbabwe, have all been cancels for experenced serious delays. Yes, I know they are a middle man. So is the retail company I work for.... BUT THIS IS EVERY DROP I HAVE BACKED. There are plenty of other middlemen... Like Coolstuffinc, that get it right.... If you are happy with massdrop, good luck to you. I am not and will be deleting my account once I get refunded for the outstanding 3 drops.

KernalbuketThat just sounds like coincidental bad luck honestly. It's not unreasonable, table top games have been on a steady rise back to popularity for a while now but printing companies as well as the game designers are still skeptical about making enough prints for shipment runs. Since I've been on this site, I've only had this drop alone get canceled and refunded. To each their own I guess.

ZelgiusthebraveI don't think it's asking too much for them to do their due diligence on a vendor to make sure they can actually provide what they say they can. I've pre-ordered games from multiple other sources in the past and they seem to be able to have solid enough inventory control/management to handle it. If they're going to vendors who say "yeah, sure, we can place an order for XXX copies of this" who haven't actually locked in an order, they're set up for failure in these situations from the get-go. The vendors need to already have orders in place or inventory on-hand or this will happen again and again with popular items in a niche community.

Gruven_reuvenit seems that only pre-orders are getting cancelled. Everything else is going through without issue. As I stated on the scythe pre-order, I give 50% of the blame to the distributor following through, 30% to the publisher for not being able to keep up with their distributors needs, 15% to Massdrop for making a drop they couldn't fill and 5% to for falling for it not once but twice now. Hopefully Massdrop has learned their lesson about pre-orders because I know I have.

KernalbuketAs I don't deal with the distributor, or the publisher.... Massdrop is the organization that took my money, I hold them accountable. Who they deal with behind the scenes in not of my concern as a consumer. As I said before, if this was a one off, no prob, stuff happens, But this is happening on ALL my drops. I could of would of should of picked this up when I had the opportunity from other retailer. Will have to wait for the second printing. Totally agree... Massdrop need to taking orders for items that they hopefully can fulfill. Lost me as a future customer.
I am a little nervous as I no longer see Terraforming Mars listed as one of my Transactions. Haven't seen the refund hit my card yet. Will give it time...

ZelgiusthebraveWe can, and certainly WILL, hold MassDROP accountable for not ensuring that a certain number of product can and will be delivered as offered. This was a PRE-order!! The vendor should have known well ahead of time just how many copies to order just to fill PRE-orders, and conveyed that to Stronghold Games, who then should have had enough prints run to cover us, plus whomever else pre-ordered, plus whatever speculation they wanted to make to fill store shelves. Sure, they might not have printed enough to fill every store, but !@#$ @#$%!@!! WE ordered and paid BEFORE THE GAME WAS EVEN PRINTED!! (or if we didn't, then MassDrop and its mysterious "The Vendor" should never have made such an offer to us under false pretenses of a "pre-order"!
Now, IF, on the rare occasion a drop is put together as a nebulous contingency deal, that should be made absolutely clear in the offer. Something along the lines of, "We don't know if we can actually get this product, but if we can, and we get enough orders, this is what we've negotiated as pricing: $x $y $z, and how many units we have been guaranteed." But any negotiation should also include a DELIVERY GUARANTEE, so we should never see such a caveat in a Massdrop deal. If "The Vendor" doesn't know how to negotiate a contract with a guarantee, then MassDrop should get out of this business. A simple line, "If Vendor fails to deliver X quantity of Product by Date, Vendor shall be liable to each customer for $100 per unit of Product ordered by said customer." This was Kindergarten level of "doing business". The ball was utterly dropped, and we paid the price by not getting a cool game at a reasonable price. Now it's $93 if you want one. It would have been ~$60 if you'd just bought it at your local store instead of trying to get a steal from a kindergarten online retailer.
You are correct about Massdrop handling damaged-product replacements well. I received a box that had been run over by something that left a tire mark. I sent photos of the package and the product and received a replacement within a week or so. Kudos to Massdrop's after-sale customer support for damaged product. Perhaps those people could give some lessons to the pre-sale and fulfillment people about how to properly run a retail business. ;-p

Gruven_reuvenOMG! Now this is bordering on criminal. You DO NOT delete a customer's transaction history!!
MassDrop, fix this immediately, or I really will call the FTC on you for deceptive business practices.
Our transaction histories should show our purchase, your screw-up, and a refund. ALL of this should remain a permanent part of our account history. Account histories are WORM (write once, read many--not to be subject to changes).
Seriously, fix this now, and stop acting like complete screw-ups, regardless the hazing you're getting here. I've seen many deals handled well through Massdrop. Apply damage control here and stop making it worse in every regard. Seriously.

captainThey did this with all my cancelled transactions....
I CAN CONFIRM that I received my refund for all three delayed/cancled drops. (Terraforming Mars, The Others, Great Zimbabwe).
Yes, that is totally shady of them deleting transaction history. (Or not displaying your true transaction history)
Regardless.... My money has been refunded. I'm outta here.

Gruven_reuvenI'm not worried about my money going missing. Worst case, I'll file a chargeback with my CC company, and they'll ensure I'm not stolen from. I am extremely concerned about what appears to be a company taking full liberties with what should be considered a sacrosanct paper trail, simply because the paper is now bits stored on their computers. The only response I have received from Massdrop is an automated response saying essentially, "We're too busy to respond to you right now." Perhaps they'll enjoy saying that to the Federal Trade Commission.
