I want to update the group and let everyone know that there are absolutely no aluminum feet included with this current listing for the TEX Aluminum case.
There aren't screw holes to include your own aluminum feet, and this is a different version of the case than the ones that have been previously available.
It is still the same material (6061 aluminum), but the front lip is a different thickness (this version is thinner), which affects the total weight and aesthetic.
In addition, the silver variant will be the same aluminum tone as the ErgoDox top plates, which can be seen below.

On the bright side with the stick on feet give you the option to reverse/front/negative tilt your keyboard :)

AndrewLekashmanThe Massdrop team needs to start reviewing the product descriptions in a SERIOUS way. Is it really that hard to read through the description of an item before you post it? I mean come on! I was about to join the drop until I knew there aren't going to be aluminum feet. I really hope you guys stop with this sloppiness because it is getting REALLY annoying. I'm probably going to hold out now to see if the aluminum feet return in the future.

Justin-TEXWhat would it take for the community to include aluminum feet in this drop?

ChinguinThis case doesn't support the aluminum feet. Theres no screw holes for them to be mounted in.

jdswhatwhatTex could simply change the design to allow installation of the aluminum feet, or DIYers can drill holes for the feet. They haven't even made the cases yet so the community may be able to convince tex to consider changing the design to accommodate aluminum feet. Maybe at 200 buys? About 30+ buyers have backed out because of the aluminum feet issue alone. Also the original model itself didn't have aluminum feet, they just added it specifically for that MD drop. Therefore it can be done for this model too. (CNC after all).

ChinguinThis version of the case won't work with aluminum feet because it's a different design. I believe there are no indents or screw holes, just a flat back. I'm sure TEX will be willing to offer the old design again in a future drop.

FarsideAs I've said before, "the original model itself didn't have aluminum feet, they just added it specifically for that MD drop". The cases are CNC made to which the CAD blueprint can be modified to include screw holes for the aluminum feet.
Here is an excerpt from wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Numerical_control
"In modern CNC systems, end-to-end component design is highly automated using computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs. The programs produce a computer file that is interpreted to extract the commands needed to operate a particular machine via a post processor, and then loaded into the CNC machines for production."
The cases have not even been made yet otherwise we would expect shipping sooner than November 10th. Therefore, the design can still be modified if the community speaks loud enough to convince TEX to include aluminum feet, similarly to include other colors if there is enough demand for such.

Justin-TEXDear Tex/Massdrop, I'd really like it if this case came with aluminum feet. I even decided to buy it even though it didn't come with any, but later changed my mind. I flip flop a lot, it's kind of a personal problem.... Anyway, If it's the price of including aluminum feet, is it possible to just add the holes in the solidworks(or whatever modelling program) to have the holes drilled and tap for us to add our own feet? I can source feet with whatever size holes, but I'd prefer not to do the drilling and tapping myself even though I do have the capability. 115 bucks is quite a bit to spend on a keyboard case, I don't think it's absolutely irrational to request feet or at least the holes to add our own feet, especially if the previous drop came with them. I don't know the price of the previous drop, so maybe if it's different, charge us for the extra aluminium for the feet?
We're mostly all adults here, let's address it as such. What does Massdrop/TEX think?
