Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Here's a couple links that might help. I've had UE Pro11s for 7 years now, couldn't be happier with them, their performance, & the support from the company. I've tried tons of other brands & formats (CIEM, IEM, OTE), & I'll be a UE customer for life. Lifetime warranty & rebalance! I'd buy these immediattely, if I didn't already have a set.
Each custom in ear monitor (CIEM) has 3 drivers for a total of 6 drivers, two of the six are "true tone" which is what they're essentially calling their dedicated tweeter drivers; their marketing team must think calling the drivers as woofers, mid-range, & tweeters is too old fashioned for them.
Q&A about the 18+ Launch, answers "True Tone" (marketing buzzword for balanced & dedicated high-freq driver): http://stories.ultimateears.com/why-ultimate-ears/introducing-the-ue-18-plus-pro/
Best "offical" description link: http://pro.ultimateears.com/ultimate-ears-pro-18-plus
When all else fails, call them (not sure if I'm allowed to post phone numbers, so I'm posting a link to their page that has their phone number): http://pro.ultimateears.com/customizer/#!/id/164
I don't work/have not worked for Logitech or UE. I am purely an audiophile that fell in love with UE & personally believe they have been (& remain) the best IEMs on the market. If you do decide to get some, make sure you get your impressions done by a recommended audiologist, or else you will always have problems with them. Again, call UE & ask for a recommendation of a local audiologist.
Hope this helps someone/anyone that's on the fence about these.
Yes, I'm fairly certain that the 18+ has a total of 6 drivers; each channel (left earpiece, right earpiece) has 3 drivers (woofer, mid-range, & tweeter). UE has decided to call their tweeter driver as "True Tone".
When you look at the Technical Specs on the 18+ page, it literally has this description confirming the number: "6 balanced armatures and 4 passive crossovers " http://pro.ultimateears.com/ultimate-ears-pro-18-plus
The UE18+ Pro has a total of 6 drivers per ear. I'm not sure how UE comes up with their model names, the 18 in the name does suggest either 9 or 18(!) drivers per ear if you follow the normal naming convention. As with most of the drops, I would suggest using outside sources to gather more information.
The naming scheme all dates back to the days of Jerry Harvey (He's the one who pioneered CIEM for stage use and was working in UE before they split). The 18+ means it's UE's 18th design, but refined.
Also, if you see the general sound signature from JH to UE, there has been some similarities. UE11 with JH11, JH5 and UE5, UE TF10 and JH Trifi. These were the designs JH developed for UE last time, and then took it as well as refined it when he started JH Audio.
To be more accurate, a more apt word would be "current" as UE/Jerry Harvey did create the first CIEM.
So it makes up 6 drivers.
I've one of these (The universal fit model that I got here on Massdrop a few months ago) and they sound so good. Custom fit would even be appealing to me personally. But already have the universal fit.
