If anybody knows, does the memory stick thru-put charging power to the USB-C device it's connected to, and if so, can it charge and transfer data at the same time?
I use my phone(s) as dash-cams on my motorcycle. The dash-cam app(s) are battery-hogs, so I always have them hooked up via a power port in my fairing or via a battery pack with USB-C capability. 16 gigs isn't too small for me using it this way. I can set the dash-cam to start erasing and re-using any number of gigs I choose, up to the capacity of the storage device. I could use maybe 13 or 14 gigs of the stick exclusively for dash-cam recording, and the remaining space for vital stats about me and my wife. I have several multi-tools with scissors, but none so small and lightweight as this one, so the multi functioning tools will work for me too, as long as the stick handles thru-put charging power simultaneously with transferring data. I wouldn't join the drop unless I get a definitive and affirmative answer to this question, so I hope Drop and/or Victorinox are monitoring these comments.
BlueTomNot really sure what you're asking. I don't imagine the USB stick has a battery, nor does it need additional power to operate, so how could it possibly "charge and transfer data at the same time"? It's for storage.
kevinhbPicture this: A large battery pack with USB 3.0 out charge port. It's hooked up to the USB 3.0 in port of the memory stick. The other USB-C end of the stick is hooked up to the USB-C charging port/data port of a phone. Can that configuration charge the phone and write data to the stick at the same time? That's what I'm asking.
