Ok, please forgive me but I didn’t buy these to play poker or blackjack. I bought these for projects dealing with drones and microelectronics. These are extremely useful because of their carbon fiber nature. Extremely light weight compared to steel and a wonderful material to build protective structures around drones/robotics/raspi delicate components. I guess the moral of this story is imagination. When I seen these I didn’t really look at the and think “Boy I can’t wait to play solitaire with my new hi tech carbon fiber playing cards!” But instead seen another fantastic use for them and they are spectacular. For those who actually want to play cards with them: they are durable as can be, but the red color blends in quite a bit and doesn’t have enough contrast and while they are quite flexible (the CF is very thin to make it more of a “card”) I don’t know that you will be able to do the same kinds of shuffles or tricks as they are a lot more ridged then a standard playing card. They are very high quality as far as the material, still very usable for cards in general and I haven’t broken a card yet but I wouldn’t consider this some sort of professional deck; maybe more of a nice addition to an office desk as a conversation starter. Although if you go through a lot of decks or like to slice or stab things by throwing cards then go nuts, this is your deck!

Stochlabso you paid $60 when you could have paid $10 for five times as much material. yeah, that's smart.

MotorradI never claimed this was for any sort of mass production job here, why the hostility? It’s not your $60 nor do you have any stake with the project I used these for. I wrote the review so others would know what my experience with these were. My goal with this purchase was not to find the lowest price for my project as it’s just a small personal project that i use to test concept viability. These are still very nice cards in their own right and I’m still glad I bought them. I guess I’m just confused why you feel a need to attack my reviews lately? Have I created an issue with you elsewhere? Are you just bored? Do you just enjoy putting people down for fun? Whatever the reason I hope you get what you need out of it. Good luck to you.

GamilusIt certainly would have been more cost effective by a large amount and for a final build that is where I would likely end up but I was going out on a limb with an idea I had and I figured these were still a nice coffee table conversation piece if they didn’t work. I mean they still play on a table (although I probably wouldn’t try any largely advanced card tricks with them as the edges tend to catch more than I’d like).

czg5These cards made for a very lightweight way for me to add protection to the body (and some external poking components / gps/camera/camera gyro, etc..) so that i could close the body and make it more aerodynamic as well. This prevented foreign objects from poking the wiring or getting to the battery in the event of a crash. All in all it worked but ultimately I will end up 3d printing a carbon fiber based material into a shell So that it will have as few seams as possible as I this drone doesn’t need speed, just stability (but an aerodynamic body still helps with stability while in movement) Still, the thin nature of the cards showed me what may be possible. Also, they still play.. no cards ended up harmed in the making of this project... lol I just still feel that for card tricks or professional play these might not have the smooth action that is normally sought after.
