Maybe you got lucky, the Aeon pads have a known defect where the foam under the leather rolls away from the foam, causing the pads to deform in shape. This causes worse comfort and seal. This usually happens very quickly, much faster than any other headphone pads degrade. Dan has a video on how to try to roll the foam back into place under the leather but it can be a permanent deformation. I don't recommend the Aeons anymore because of this issue. It's unacceptable to have pads that degrade so quickly at this pricepoint. Maybe you're lucky, or maybe you don't mind the issue as much, if it does happen to you, make sure to submit a warranty claim to Dan Clark Audio as it's a known warranty issue

dm94aq7I see your point, thanks for explaining. I don't believe I have this issue, and if I do it is extremely slight. I actually would agree about seal being something that would matter to me. However because of the shape of the earpads, they fit my ears and head perfectly and doesn't give me the impression they need to be perfectly in place to give me good audio (many headphones do). That being said, most headphones that people consider high-end around this price point have some issue so I don't think it changes my initial stance on these. Hated my Sundaras because of the shape, build, stiffness, and cable, I usually avoid Hifiman now. Elex is great but has a lot of problems as you probably know. DT 1990 has the treble issues. HD660s is fine, but is expensive since its not much better than a 6xx. It is unfortunate about the pads affecting people, but it does feel nice owning a headphone that feels so comfortable, sturdy, and light that comes with a solid cable (for high-end headphones anyway), good case, and a sound signature that is so comfortable to listen to. Id pay about $350 for this gladly in comparison to most other options out there
