Looking forward to receiving my QK100! Custom-ordered it last week and looking forward to the build experience. Thanks for your thoughtful review as well, nice to hear thoughts on the board itself. The Darkness set looks great! 💯
How do you like the QK100? I just ordered mine and I'm waiting for it to come in. I'm coming from a KBD67 lite so I'm super excited for the full size for work.
JeanClaudeDamVanI like it a lot! It didn’t quite make the cut as my main keyboard, but to no fault of its own. It was my 30th or 35th build, somewhere in there. I’ll just compare it to other 96%s I have since I do not have a KBD67 lite (but I do have a Tiger Lite 80, which may be similar). In the config I have (carbon fiber and oil kings) it’s on the louder and clackier side, but not as loud as my Odin R3 with Boba U4Ts and SA keycaps. Due to the plate, there is little flex, if any. The Monsgeek M2 has got it beat there. The sound isn’t as deep or muted as my Melody96s, one with lubed Cherry Reds and one with Prevail Nebula switches, both full of foam and MT3 keycaps. Not as hollow sounding as my Nuphy Halo 96, also on MT3s. The build quality is fantastic, and would only put it behind the Odin R3 in this segment, which is much more expensive anyways. The sides on the QK100 though are slightly rounded, which feel very nice to touch. At 2302 grams, it comes in third of my 96%s, behind Monsgeek M2 (2435g) and Melody 96 with a brass weight (2576g). Basically, it’s middle ground in my current config in basically everything. Not the best in one thing, but not the worst in anything either. It’s all preference though, as someone may prefer the sound and feel. To me, it’s a jack of all trades, but it is currently beat out by my Monsgeek M5 for work, because it is full size and I don’t feel bad grubbing it up due to the price. If the QK100 had a full size right shift and I had picked up a polycarbonate plate, it may have been my go to. For now though, it sits on my second tier of my keyboard display as the somewhat literal and figurative “Dark Horse”. 9/10
JeanClaudeDamVanNice! Ordered my QK100 last week as well! Hope you enjoy it!
