Accidentally bricked my Carina when flashing.

more_vert
I was trying to flash my Drop Carina in an attempt to make it have the same lighting as this video: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/0iIzTWxev0g However, when I tried to flash the board, I used the wrong file by mistake, and that file was for the Drop Shift. A singular orange LED lit up at the front of the board and it became unresponsive. When I plug it into my laptop, it makes a noise to show that the device recognises it, but it doesn't register me pressing the keys, and no lights turn on. Device manager shows three keyboards when my mouse is plugged in, but two when the mouse isn't plugged in (Excluding the laptop's keyboard). I have tried to flash the board again using the reset button on the back of the board, but I'm not sure it's working as there is a layer of foam in the way of the PCB and the case. Is there any way to do some sort of factory reset on this keyboard to reset the firmware? Many thanks. P.S I am in the UK

Hi, sorry for the troubles reverting back to stock firmware. Before assessing the best path forward, could you share a bit more about what has happened so far? Were you using the online configurator and old firmware flashing tool, or did you download the Drop Keyboard Configurator app (standalone GUI application) and flash through there? Have you tried either of these methods - hold Fn + B when attempting to reflash, OR hold Esc while plugging the USB cable in? The first should be what the program asks for, and the second is a longshot in case the Carina enables that functionality (honestly can't remember - it might be CTRL/ALT/etc only). If neither of those work, the easiest thing might be to disassemble the board and press the reset button on the PCB that way, to be sure it's engaging and pressing properly.
All the hassle aside, I'm glad it was a relatively straightforward solution! :)
