Real men have their own Atomic Clocks
more_vert
You'll need to act quick if you want one--they're only releasing three, and they're a little pricey at $2.7M each: "Swiss watchmaker Urwerk recently introduced its limited edition atomic clock.
The Urwerk AMC has been in development for nearly a decade, and takes inspiration from Breguet’s ‘sympathetique’ watch/clock combination invention of the turn of the 19th century. The Urwerk AMC uses a solid 55-pound block of aluminum for a foundation, and winds and adjusts the watch when it is in place within."

You know the President was bluffing when he said "his nuclear button is bigger than Kim Jong-un's" because this Atomic Clock is exactly what you would use to enter the nuclear launch codes!

No doubt about it--when ever I enter my nuclear codes, this is the only "football" I use!

ORIENT OYSTER PRESIDENT
It would take a miracle, but I wish we could get a drop for this watch from Orient (without the fake diamonds on the dial). I believe the model number for this is 2EV03001D. This is an awesome looking dress watch, and great for those of us that can't justify buying a Rolex daydate. They are selling for a pretty penny on eBay, but I think Orient could do really well by bringing this watch back. [image]

Seiko 5 SNZF 17 lifetime expectancy?
Anybody knows what is expected lifetime for Seiko SNZF17 (Sea Urchin); i.e. if reasonably used under normal conditions every day as a beater watch how long it can be expected that it will last? Does anybody have this watch for a longer period of time i.e. a couple of years; how does it behave as an aged watch?

Casio M-30 Melody: 80's Retro Electronic Watch
[image] Another vintage watch, dig out from my childhood. Nostalgic melodies and music samples from the 80's are stored in it's digital memory on an 8 bit depth. The last years many Casio old-school watches came back to the scene and this one will definitely have a place on the dj decks... Case Size: 31 x 44 mm / 8 mm thickness Power Reserve : Battery Reliability: NO Date: YES Water Proof: NO Movement: Japanese Digital [image]

There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
[image] And this isn't either of them! [image] The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: [image] The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. The reason for that distinction is clear--Panda bears, only come in the first arrangement. Now, at this point, everyone should be thinking about the most well-know Panda, The Rolex Panda, which is actually a Daytona, and among Rolex Daytonas, the most famous of which is the Paul Newman Daytona, which was famous first, because it was Paul's, and second because it sold at auction for $17.8 million (US Dollars). The story of that auction is well-known so I'll only...

Psst: I've got an inside tip for you!
[image] (but you've got to promise to keep it under your hat...) Nothing annoys me more than finding out about a cool watch, the day after they sell out! I imagine that kind of thing bugs you too? Well that's not going to happen today because, buddy, you're in the loop! That little beauty up top is a genuine microbrand phenom called the Helm Vanuatu. I've wanted one for a while but my timing has always been off. But your timing is going to be spot-on, because Friday, November 8, at 21:00 UTC, Vanuatu preorders go live! That means you've got plenty of time to plan your move. Couple things you might want to know first: A) they cost $275 plus $30 for worldwide shipping (I say that's a bargain), and B) you have to pay your tab, in-full, up front--meaning if the guy takes all your money and moves to Utah under an assumed name, you're screwed (actually he'd be screwed too--ever been to Utah?) Ha--kidding of course, I love Utah. Okay, here's all the stuff Helm told me (you'll have...
