About the Diplomat Excellence A Fountain Pen Diplomat’s Excellence A fountain pen is fitted with a stainless steel nib bearing the company’s iconic logo. This proprietary nib offers a bit of springy flex that most stainless steel nibs lack, enabling some line variation without muting feedback. The snap-closure cap is fitted with the company’s signature pocket clip and features a finial that also bears the Diplomat logo. Gleaming trim adorns either side of the resin-coated grip, as well as the bottom of the cap, and the pen is compatible with international standard cartridges and converters.

That sounds like an excellent plan. Perhaps there could be a section in which such posts could be archived?
A feature we don't have right now, but that's a good idea especially for stuff like this. Appreciate your feedback!
One of the most consistently smooth nibs made...

Thanks everyone!
I am a newcomer to fountain pens (I fell in love with calligraphy and progressed). I ordered my first one that should arrive this afternoon. I would love to have an exceptional quality pen for later when I have got a great deal of experience with them!
Impressive pen overall:
- A bouncy stainless nib ... only other manufacturer I've seen make these is Noodlers (if you don't count Platinum's "unofficial" springy stainless nibs.
- The difference between this one and the Noodlers or Platinum is that this looks might fine. :-)
- For those intrigued by this pen, Massdrop offers variations on this model periodically in its writing section.
- Finally, I noticed a bunch of new folks have entered for this pen. For those new to fountain pens, it'll be difficult to go back once you've tried out a decent pen or two. Fountain pens can be had at a wide variety of price-points. Keep your eyes on what's dropping in the writing community.
Fine Print: No affiliations. Really.
My friend gave me a fountain pen with an actual feather plume, but it is not at all practical. This would be so much better for writing meaningful letters with...
Would love to have this and start writing again. I currently have a mont Blanc from my great aunt after she died but it's cracked and leaks all over my fingers so I don't use it anymore.
If you are interested …
You might be able to get it repaired to working condition either by Montblanc or an independent repair person.
If you're able to reach Montblanc, tell them the story and they might be accommodating.
Or not. I have no idea but it's worth a shot if you're I terrsted in using it, someday.
Would love to win one to start growing my fountain pen collection.
