rupkHi, yes, really happy with the Chord Qutest. Before that I had Chord 2Qute and it is so big improvement in regards to detail, separation and dynamics, it was worth the buy. Also I was lucky to get it with 30% discount when Chord had promotion on it :) I also use it now with my Accuphase preamp and power amp hooked to Bowers & Willkins 803 and the setup sounds fantastic.

Marcel_VInteresting, I’m also looking at Accuphase pre-amp! Which one you got?? do you move Qutest from desktop to main system based on need? have you heard Mojo? Wondering how much difference is between Mojo and Qutest

rupkHi, I have C-11 pre-amplifier, but would like to get a bit higher model (some of 27XX or 28XX). I'm using Qutest in my main system and also for listening to music at home. I a bit changed the system now. Sold LCD-4 because they were too heavy for my and my neck started to hurt after one hour. Wanted to buy 4z, but got a really good deal on Kennerton Thridi and they are almost on level of LCD-4 and similar in sound (much better than for example LCD-MX4). I also found out that the Accuphase C11 headphone amplifier is as good as the Auralic Taurus, so I sold it and bought tube headphone amp Trafomatic Head 2. So Accuphase I have for analytical listen and Trafomatic for more musical listening. Accuphase preamps in general have fantastic headphone amps as they use really good components in their equipment. Before C11+P-400 I had Accuphase E210 and it was also very nice amp, not as detailed and strong as the combo, but was better with B&W 804 I had back then than Krell Kav 300i. Qutest is much better that Hugo 1 or 2Qute and these are quite better than Mojo. Don't get me wrong Mojo is the best in the price range for years now, just all higher Chord DACs are better. But Mojo is warmer sounding than 2Qute or Qutest, so if you want a warmer sound you need to pair it with warmer equipment. Accuphase is in general a bit warmer sounding, so good combination or pairing it with tube amps is also good idea. It depends what you want, if you are going for analytical sound than it is OK in all cases. I like warmer sound but still go for Chord equipment as I have all other equipment warmer sounding :)
