Updated: The Ears arms race dictated I upgrade my aural arsenal. Got the Cardas EM 5813, Tin HiFi T-3, TFZ Galaxy T2 and the BGVP DMG (all from Drop), the Sennheiser IE 40 Pro, and even tried the NEX Q70 TWS (bass-heavy); got the Shinola Canfield Bluetooth IEM by Campfire Audio (really nice sound), because Schiit and Shinola, and replaced/upgraded the cable. Found a good price ($30 on Ali express) on the BLON 03 Annotation, graphene driver (try not to laugh at the translations in the packaging), then added the Sennheiser IE80, amazing sound (drastically reduced price of $54.95 new on ebay, lists for $360 on Sennheiser's website, $246 on amazon, I'll take a $200 to 300 discount). The last add is the Echobox Finder X1 (meh).

Actually, the last add (couldn't pass it up) is the HE-4XX, which sounds just unbelievable. The first planar magnetic for me. They're no bass cannons if you like that, but has plenty for me, I don't want a subwoofer in my head. It absolutely does the low end justice. They're my new favorite for full-sized headphones. But below is my pride and joy, the QDC Anole V3 . The sound is the finest I've heard from any IEM so far. They're musical and fun yet thoroughly detailed and precise. Very comfortable, you'll forget you're wearing them. Price is steep but worth it to me for the sound. Almost as good as the HE-4XX? Hell no, they're better! The V3 have the best audio quality of any cans I've ever heard, including over-ears. (EDIT: that was before I got the FOCAL Clear)

Head-Fi reviewer Audiorambles: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/qdc-anole-v3.23655/reviews. My review: https://www.head-fi.org/threads/qdc-discussion-and-impressions-thread.804170/page-53#post-15005442 Also: upgraded to the Audioengine HD6 because, better sound. They fill any room with loud, and especially clear music. I do feel that the largest part of your audio budget should go toward speakers and headphones because that's what your ears actually hear. An amazing high dollar amp will sound like crap if its played through craptastic speakers, and vice versa. BTW the (Sanus) stands make a huge difference in the sound! Once I got them on the stands, and the HD6's escaped the horizontal plane, they really opened up! Obviously I'm no decorator, but its my cave and she doesn't care what I do with the garage. Now to hide all the cables... **Edit: 6/2020** - Upgraded to Schiit Jotunheim, Modius and the FOCAL Clear (my new pride and joy) for balanced audio
