Homing in on Handle Materials

The handle on a folding knife is just as important as the blade. Choosing the right material can be a challenge, but we’re confident in our three choices. The first material you’ll find on this folder is linen micarta. A man-made material created by layering linen and thermosetting plastic, it has a durable composition and a fabric-like feel. Next is canvas micarta, which is made the same way, using canvas instead of linen. In comparison, it’s a little stickier and more rugged. Both materials are mainstays on high-end custom knives and fixed blades, and we think they’ll look and feel great on this folder. The last material we’ve selected is marbled carbon fiber. If you’re looking for a way to really set your knife apart, you can’t go wrong with this lightweight, strong, and downright stunning handle material.

I wish the marble CF version had non-ano satin Ti, or egg shell non-ano. The all blue ano kept me from ordering. Blue was not bad, but at least another CF option would be better if you bring this back up. Another thread mentioned blade steel. M390, s30vn, 204p all good steels if the cost can still be low.
