That's my new toy. Everything working without problem. The remote have to purchased separately. The build quality of this remote is very good. All metal in design. I'm pairing this with my DT880Pro, Takstar HF580 and a SIVGA. All these are using the 6.5 mm plug. Should I go and buy a balanced headphone to get better sound? Been trying out the various FIR settings of this unit. Which is the better setting for normal listening environment?

I have the same Topping plugged to my THX789. Best combination.
I know there is a lot of hype these days about balanced configurations but I don't see any need for you to spend money on a balanced headphone/cable with the DX7s. If anything I would throw that money at a JDS Atom (or Magni 3 or O2 etc...) and bypass the very high output impedance of the Toppings built in HP out. Even better would be to pickup one of the various THX based amps from Drop, SMSL or Monoprice as they will drive damn near anything without concern for sufficient clean power. I say this as someone who runs various balanced gear, including fully balanced dual mono from source to headphone in some configurations. Balanced connections from source to amp over long runs or in noisy environments are helpful. If you need the power the XLR balanced output from an amp is also typically of higher voltage. Amp specific factors like the iHA-6 and Mjolnir output impedance differences can make the XLR output more desirable. There are also ancillary benefits with some designs like slew rate, cross-talk etc but IMO they are of relatively minor impact. There is essentially zero inherent benefit in the XLR connection from the amp to headphone if it doesn't need more power or provide a lower output impedance like the ones I mentioned.

Which headphone with balanced cable you recommend?

Invest in the balanced cable and go for tilt man; once you go balanced, you'll never look back.

Using the XLR should give you more power but I don't think it will give you better sound.
pslayer1And in this design it will also double the output impedance so anything short of roughly 150 ohms will have a loss of electrical dampening (less control over driver movement) and frequency response alterations. This is a great DAC and a so-so headphone amp.
