Just got my first real pair of headphones (I don’t think my gaming set of HyperX count) and have totally fallen in love. I’ve seen some guys repaint theirs so I gave it a shot. This is my first time doing anything like this, but I had an airbrush from when I tried getting into scaled models and went to work. After sanding it I used a black primer on all the parts. I used a matte grey and let it dry. Because I airbrushed it there were some bumps and artifacts from it drying too fast. I took some grade #000 steel wool to the defects and it ended up taking too much off. I ended up liking the worn look and just went with it. I finished everything off with a matte clear coat except for the grill which has a nice shine. My original idea was a solid battleship grey body with a deep blue grill. The paint was indeed blue but the black primer showed through and turned it a nice deep purple instead. Love it. Of course as I said my steel wool made a nice effect so I kept that too. Comments, critique, what would you have done different?

I like the way the "purple" looks. Sharp.
