This post helped me a lot during my build (first mech build). Thanks! I wanted to say, the top and bottom of the case become easier to separate if you use 4 guitar pick shaped pry tools. There are 4 clips at the top edge and 4 clips at the bottom edge where the two halves clip in together. Having a lot of trouble configuring the board unfortunately. I would like to add a layer (I think that's what it's called) where I can use the numpad keys. The software for this keyboard is horrible. I would like to use via or qmk but I don't know anything about that nor whether this keyboard is supported.

I see screws on the plate, does the screws screw the both the pcb and plate to the bottom case or not ? And also how does the top and bottom case lock together, by screws or by clips?

Tkl_onlyYes, the screws go through the plate and the pcb to secure it to the bottom of the case. The top snaps into place with clips, but does have a single screw , accessed on the bottom of the case. I’m about to change switches, so I’ll take the whole thing apart & document with pics. Stay tuned.

Tkl_onlyNew pics have been added. A minor correction about the plate/pcb/case. The plate screws onto the pcb which simply sits on the bottom of the case. It’s secured by the snapping cover & that 1 screw on the bottom.

In case anyone is wondering... the gk87s does NOT fit inside the Drop CTRL case. I was really hoping it would. Just imagine a heavy as hell, wireless Drop CTRL keyboard.

Hi, wanted to ask the casing's color, is it like really dark black or it's more of a lighter greyish kind of black. Seeing your picture here, it looks like your keycaps's color black is lot darker than your casing, can you confirm ?? In comparison is the casing color dark as like Filco Majestouch, Leopold FC750R ( Black ).

O yeah I see it, it's quite obvious since the Skyloong Logo on the bottom right lol. Damn it looks amazing indeed, this is a good color definitely match WoB keycaps. Tks for sharing, this help me a lot ! I love that Yellow + Black + Purple I think ? Keycap set as well. What caps are those ??

gh0st47Glad I could help! That keycap set is a bootleg of the GMK Night Runner set. Not GMK quality, but still very good. Not sure if it'll let me post a link from that huge online bookstore, but here goes... https://amzn.to/3psX13N If it removes the link, you could always search that huge online bookstore with the search term "onecap night run".

How is the build quality?
DubbloFollowing. Man I messed up my Filco TKL trying to mod it and getting this as a replacement. Hoping it isn't too much of a difference in quality. Not a fan of the smooth ABS shell but I'll get used to it.

DubbloVery good. It's plastic, as are all the GK & SK keyboards, but thick, good quality plastic. It is a bit difficult to open though; much more so than their other keyboards. There is a retaining screw on the bottom, under a QR code of all places. Once that is removed, you'll still have to pop the top off. The features are the same as the GK61, GK64, etc as far as the lighting. And yes, It includes that questionable little speaker bug installed by a nameless, faceless person in a communist country that makes your keyboard's lighting pulse to your music... and coughing, which is important during a pandemic. A great keyboard is worth a little paranoia over privacy concerns, right? :D
