Have they be redesigned/fix or will they, over time, suffer the same problem like my previous pair of 4XX - screws holding caps loosen over time and fall off. I needed to screw them back together every day. Yokes were actually bigger then caps and I think that there was a bit too much tension from metal springiness involved. After some time they wouldn't even last whole day of normal use and one day I was so pissed and tired of rebuilding them over and over and over again that I throw them into garbage bin. IMHO those are simple an example of bad engineering, or perhaps case of using parts that weren't actually designed to work together in the first place.

Just saw this post now that these are back in stock. Mine did exactly this! I have them in the box jus...split apart. This too is the only reason I would buy another 4XX. It's ridiculous how tiny those screws are its clear the thread is getting shaved off with this amount of tension that comes from Taking Off and On the headphones.

I can only get one side to work out of the box. Too late to return I think…anybody else have this?

Seems to me you wasted a decent set of headphones. I would have just used Loctite.

PhillipNunyaI used loctite and it didn't really stick the same way. Stretched the outer part of the headband and very shortly ripped off again

bigdaddyartinthis has been my experience even after six months of heavy use. one side was slightly looser than the other right out of the box, but it hasn't progressed and they're solid.
