There Are Pandas, and Then There Are Pandas.
And this isn't either of them! The Pandas we're talking about here, are watches, not bears. And what got me thinking about them (again) was a link posted this morning by @cm.rook who pointed a few of us to the very attractive (and not terribly priced) Yema "Rallygraph" Panda which, in it's most traditional arrangement, looks like the one on the left, but can also be had in the version on the right: The model on the left is a true Panda, while the model on the right is called a reverse Panda. I don't generally get excited about packaging, but this may be an exception. It was like opening a Christmas gift over lunch, I was excited. They do a nice job on design and with little touches like the maps on the outer sleeve and the back of the warranty card. It comes in a nice display box. Unlike most boxes that go in to storage, I think I'll actually keep this one out.
It does wear a little bigger than I thought it would, but not terribly so, due to the case shape. It is shaped like the bell housing on an old headlight - again, in keeping with the automotive theme. All in all really well executed, and I've always loved this strap (I have a brown one I purchased over a year ago that I can swap in and out).
I'm terrible at saving money in my watch fund. I regret nothing.
