I have recently purchased HD6XX and I have a Scarlett Solo audio interface and Creative X3 DAC. Primarily I’m listening to classical music and film scores. I’m using Scarlett Solo audio interface to record classical music (with acoustic guitar, digital piano and signature frequency energy chimes, singing bowls and tuning forks). Ideally, of course, I understand that HD6XX require something like a quality tube amplifier. As I was experimenting with settings I put Scarlett Solo in a chain with X3 both set on 192kHz/24bit/1024 and when I started listening I realized the sound is completely different than when I used each separately. I have no experience in the field and these are my first top level headphones. I just have very good ears and performance experience in acoustic guitar and piano. I’ve heard tube amplified and vinyl analog signals before and what I heard processed through the chain sounded very close to tube signal. Deep and warm sound. Not just clear sound but all bands...
I'm on a 500-600 budget and really want to upgrade. Right now I'm running an SHP-9500/Steelseries Pro Wireless. I just purchased the THX 789 and I'm looking to purchase a Dac+Headphone combo that would work well with the 789. Any recommendations in the 500-600 range? Thanks
Preamp for volume control of left, right channels?
Does anyone know of a preamp-like device that can adjust the level of the left and right channels with either a pan/balance control or separate left/right volume controls? I want to be able to turn down the right channel a few DB to compensate for partial hearing loss. I'd love something with the footprint and pricing of the various JDS Labs, Mayflower and/or Schitt boxes but haven't seen anything on the market that can do pan/balance other than high-end headphone amps. Thanks!
This buzzing noise started to happen like a month ago. It was just static noise after being paired to the phone, then it getting louder and louder now, whenever I try to connect it on Bluetooth, it goes crazy buzzing sounds, for like five minutes and non-stop both earpieces. It also can't be controlled with a sound bar or anything, just goes loud so that I can't wear it at all. But, weirdly it stops when I connect it to my laptop using the bundle 3.5mm cable. What do you think of this problem? I'm gonna contact the customer support team, but this is so uncomfortable to use it. Sometimes it goes like 10 minutes. Did anyone have the same issue as mine?
Can someone from customer support please reach out.
I purchased an R5 Saber edition, and the unit lasted about a week before it died on me. Someone named Haley said it would take a few days for her to reach out to someone to see if there are any troubleshooting tips. That was on Sept 18th, and I still have not gotten a response back. I sent another email asking for a refund because this is stressing me out that after spending $400 dollars no one from customer support is responding.
