I was personally able to overclock my 1700 to 4 GHz after disabling 2 cores on the Wraith Spire cooler and the temperatures weren't all that bad (granted, it was over my "comfortable" temperature at a little over 80 degrees C). This, in turn, would pretty much equate to a 1600 being overclocked to 4 GHz on a stock cooler. As many people aren't fans of overclocking, some chips *may* be better. However, for the price, included cooler, and for the performance, the 1600 is a very solid chip for tinkerers who aren't afraid to overclock their processor.
