I was personally able to overclock my 1700 to 4 GHz after disabling 2 cores on the Wraith Spire cooler and the temperatures weren't all that bad (granted, it was over my "comfortable" temperature at a little over 80 degrees C). This, in turn, would pretty much equate to a 1600 being overclocked to 4 GHz on a stock cooler. As many people aren't fans of overclocking, some chips *may* be better. However, for the price, included cooler, and for the performance, the 1600 is a very solid chip for tinkerers who aren't afraid to overclock their processor.
Stock coolers should always be discarded. I mean, yeah, they are better than intel but that doesnt mean much. You cant really get a 1600 past 3.7GHz with the temps you get on stock; I know because ive tried on a recent build for a friend. You need some like the 212 hyper evo at least, or some other good single-tower cooler. If you want more, get one of corsairs clc's or something. The giant twin-tower coolers are a massive pain in the ass that makes the little bit more a clc costs worth it. Again, another thing I know personally, having used a phanteks tc14pe before.
I don't understand why processor drops for current gen processors keep coming up. For a product like this there is literally zero incentive for anyone to do bulk discounts, at least not in this way. These are selling right now and pretty well, no one is going to be trying to clear out their stock in bulk.
Hell I didn't even notice it said Ryzen 5 Processors. Just saw that entry from Team Blue standing out. Personally I think Ryzen 5s are a great price point for midrange builds and I plan to get one soon, so I hope this drop materializes. Time will tell.
This sort of thing is far from unique to this poll so it is really people doing the "My prefered CPU isn't here I'll add it" and they didn't read anything they just saw a CPU picture and clicked.
