The 1800X alone would be better because there are many who dislike MSI's quality control.
The CPU alone would allow folks to save on the cpu and purchase the board of their choice.

MasadaGood point, but I've heard more good than bad personally for MSI's quality control.. but again everyone has different experiences.

ScorpionI understand. My poor experiences with them began in 2010 with the GTS 250 Twin Frozr GPU that died in about a few weeks of pc build. Tossed it up to chance according to Newegg's recommendation. After several other failed attempts with motherboards, gpus, etc.
Final straw was GX70 laptop purchased in 2014 with the money from my last deployment. BSOD out of the box repeatedly. It too was RMA'd back to Newegg. I just don't wish to deal with them from my experiences. I vould have the worst luck in the world.

MasadaWow! That is definitely unfortunate. I hope you better luck with all other PC parts and stuff. It must have been devastating!

ScorpionLol. :/ no it wasn't devastating. But it was extremely annoying. MSI puts great features and awesome marketing on their motherboards. I've just had enough poor experiences with them and colleagues who also have been burned with DOA boards and gpus, or features failing after a year or two, that I just don't want to deal with them any longer.
Some people have had great luck with Msi. More power to them.

MasadaHmm, true. I guess you just have to be lucky when ordering parts. I like MSI designs but I'm glad I chose Sapphire for my GPU. I saw very little negative reviews. What do you think of Sapphire?
