ssssshhhh you have no idea what you say
the MSRP's are too high on these... you can get that board and CPU combo for $800 on amazon as individual parts.

If only it was that easy, I'm gonna try that for sure if this poll goes somewhere with the manufacter and we can get a nice drop here.
The Asrock Taichi X370 is already sold out @189$, so I would assume that's the popular one.
What do you guys think about pairing that up with the 1700 or 1700X?

Both are good for pretty much anything, to the most part, but you rather pay a little more for the X. Rather not feel bad after because you don't have enough power. Like @darth415Said, 1700 is the casual between the two.

Some forums are saying go with the 1700 not 1700x because they both OC to about the same point.
Id say if you're not going to OC, 1700x if you are going to OC, research it a bit and see what clocks people are getting. 3.9-4.1 is the range I've seen in discussions
The 1800X alone would be better because there are many who dislike MSI's quality control.
The CPU alone would allow folks to save on the cpu and purchase the board of their choice.

Lol. :/ no it wasn't devastating. But it was extremely annoying. MSI puts great features and awesome marketing on their motherboards. I've just had enough poor experiences with them and colleagues who also have been burned with DOA boards and gpus, or features failing after a year or two, that I just don't want to deal with them any longer.
Some people have had great luck with Msi. More power to them.

Hmm, true. I guess you just have to be lucky when ordering parts. I like MSI designs but I'm glad I chose Sapphire for my GPU. I saw very little negative reviews. What do you think of Sapphire?
