Noodlers would actually turn starters away from fountain pens. I would rather recommend something that works like a Safari, Loom or metro.

ZslaneThe Daedalus is a neat idea, but I've used G nibs on dip pens, and while they can provide more flex than an Ahab nib, the tines are pretty sharp, and I find they scrape the paper more than an Ahab or a true vintage flex nib.
Hopefully someday someone will come out with a new design that offers a genuine vintage flex nib experience without resorting to manga nibs.

Well, I guess it's 3x the price of the others... a little pricey for a starter.
