This unit is on sale locally for ~315USD; hoping massdrop can get it lower than that...
Personally, I would wait for the new AMD ZEN cpu's to come out if you are on a budget, or just wait for the new Intel ones which are also coming out this year. However if you don't wan't to wait, then go with the skylake ones or the 6-8 core haswell ones as those all utilize DDR4 ram, and have a few other benefits also. The new i5 K is only a bit more than the old one, and is worth the extra money.

the i7 6700 non-k is a better choice. Cheaper, similar performance, less heat and wasted watt...
I really need the i5-4690K, tbh, I can't afford much more.
Don't go with lg1150 chipsets as they are going out fast, by next year or so these processors are consider old and even now it is somewhat.
