The reason for there being a 250gb version is to use it as a boot drive, with room for the added essentials. I would like to have one just for that purpose. For Mass storage I'll use regular ssd's
I just built a mini-ITX computer and used the 970 2.1 Tb as a second memory. I know that I will be able to trust Samsung to secure my games and special documents.
This are 277 on Amazon and newegg. Also newegg is there link.
These drives can be used in the 2015 MacBook pro correct? I believe they use a m2 drive?

Nope, Apple uses their own SSDs. They use different slots too. Here is more info: https://beetstech.com/blog/apple-proprietary-ssd-ultimate-guide-to-specs-and-upgrades
Any capacity would be welcome as long as they actually drop it to a competitive price. Unlike every single other Samsung SSD drop so far, which have all been more expensive than what you can find on Amazon or Newegg.
I don't even see why the 250 is a choice in this day of gaming or just computer usage 250 fills up in a heartbeat. Also I agree with the other comments this shouldn't be a massdrop thing when you can get these for under msrp from Amazon and Newegg with free shipping most of the time. But I guess if the 2TB could be dropped well under even that price maybe it's feesable to throw up a drop if enough people grab it, but I highly doubt that would happen. Also, get a WD Black M.2 NVMe instead better price and reliability. Anyway, I digress I'm done ranting for now... ((dun dun dun) lawl)

250GB could be used for StoreIM (It's basically Optane hybrid drives, but with any hardware)

yeah I mean it has it's place I guess but even still i just don't think its a good purchase. To each their own though. I'm running 2 WD Black m.2 NVMe drives and a WD Black sata 2 TB for storage and backup and I filled up the NVMe's in like 2 hours with my steam account. Games these days are huge and I would think a 250 just wouldn't be a good decision. Save your money for a 500 or bigger unless your buying it to do something like Store-MI (which is terrible and clunky). There is another one that is just software that "Linus tech tips" does a compare to Optane and store-MI and it beats Intel and AMD's version of X-point by a substantial amount.
I would see this really being worth it for the expensive 2tb version. Getting the price down on that one maybe below 500 would be great. The others can usually be had at an already decent savings on Amazon.
What would be the point?
Massdrop is not Amazon go buy easy stock products at Amazon with 2 day prime shipping. Massdrop is for custom or very hard to source products that's worth the month or more wait.

They're already available for well below MSRP at Amazon and other places. I doubt Massdrop can beat the current $277 street price of the 1TB, for example.

Well hopefully they do! It'd be awesome to get it down at $200
