For gaming, a CPU is MUCH less important than a decent GPU, and is hardly a bottleneck in my experience. Instead of throwing all your money at something that isn't going to noticeably change your experience, spend a little more on a good graphics card instead.

CaeliCorrect...but if you can afford that 1080ti OC (which runs around $1200-$1300 thanks to the miners) to future proof your build a bit longer, why not pair it with a $400 8700k, or you’ll be replacing both when the next great game hits the market.
